Simon & Cindy Wagg - Lead Pastor
As Lead Pastor, Simon Wagg is excited about leading Horizon Church into the next steps of our journey as a church. As a trained school teacher and ordained pastor with the Australian Christian Churches, he is passionate about teaching and communicating the Bible in a way that connects it with everyday life. He believes that each of us has a God given purpose and potential and that Horizon is a place where you can flourish!
Both Simon and Cindy were part of the plant team at Horizon, serving the church in various capacities ever since. Simon stepped into the lead pastor role in late 2020.
Simon and Cindy have three children – Grace, Judah and Isaiah. In his off-hours, Simon enjoys watching and playing sport and spending time playing with his energetic young kids.
James & Sarah Goodwin - Assistant Pastor
Pastor James Goodwin joined Horizon at the start of 2021 as our Assistant Pastor. James supports Pastor Simon in leading the church, preaching on Sundays and assisting in providing practical and spiritual support for our church family.
James and Sarah value living in community with people and have a passion for discipleship – seeing people raised up and equipped in their faith. As a geophysicist, James has a reasoned and logical approach to communicating the truth found in the Bible. He is passionate about teaching people why Jesus is important and relevant to our lives today.
In his spare time, James enjoys playing video games and keeping fit through martial arts. Sarah is a public servant who works in policy relating to children, young people and families in the ACT. She loves leading worship and has a heart for seeing people’s lives transformed by Jesus.
Margo & Greg Wagg - Founding Pastors
Pastors Margo and Greg Wagg have been pastoring for 30 years in both Sydney and Canberra and are both ordained ministers with the Australian Christian Churches. They are the founding pastors of Horizon Church and previously led the church as Senior Pastors. As part of the pastoral team they are still actively engaged in ministry.
They have a desire to reach people with the truth and life that is found in Jesus. A passion of theirs is to see Christians grow in their faith and become stronger people- who fulfil their potential in life. Both Margo and Greg are gifted teachers, able to relate Biblical truths in practical ways.
They are Weston Creek locals, and have three children, all of whom are married and actively involved in church life.
