Simon is looking at one of the lesser known people in the Old Testament, Hagar, who finds herself alone in the wilderness not sure of her next steps. We will see that in the midst of her struggles she encounters El Roi the “God who sees” – and finds comfort in encountering the God who sees and cares for each one of us.
