Your First Visit
Horizon is a relaxed and welcoming church with a place for everyone. See below for more information about who we are and what we do. If you have more questions please contact us.
We would love for you to join us – you’ll meet friendly people who remember how daunting it can be to visit a church for the first time. You might want to know:
- Most people dress casually (there is no dress code).
- Services go for about an hour with time after for coffee.
- We come from various backgrounds and denominations so you’ll feel welcome regardless of your journey.
- We won’t single you out publicly, or ask you to say or do anything.
Join us on Sundays in Canberra at 10am in the Weston Neighbourhood Hall, located on the corner of Hilder St & Gritten St, Weston.
Absolutely. You are very welcome at Horizon, whether you’re exploring faith, have questions about Jesus, or are simply curious about church.
We know that everyone is on a journey, and you don’t have to have it all figured out to come along. Our hope is that you’ll feel free to engage at your own pace as you discover more about Jesus and the hope that he offers to us.
Kids are welcome at Horizon – in fact they make up a lot of our members! You can feel comfortable bringing your kids because:
- We keep your kids safe – all of our leaders have completed formal kids safety training and have WWVP accreditation.
- Kids church is on during the sermon for 4 year olds to Year 6 students – they’ll have heaps of fun & hear about Jesus!
- Next Gen (Years 5-Year 9) runs fortnightly while the sermon is happening, during the school term.
- We have a fun play space for babies to age 3 to hang out during the sermon (or you're very welcome to stay in the main hall with your little one).
- Don’t worry if your kids make noise! We know that kids can be unpredictable in new (or familiar) places. We love the energy and joy that kids bring to our church community.
- We have a change table available.

- Each Sunday one of our pastors will share a 25-30 minute message from the Bible. We use expository preaching — explaining the Bible passage by passage in a way that’s practical, clear, and relevant to your life. You can watch previous sermons here.
